Character's age in AU: Appearance-wise around 6 years, but there is no actual DOB on record
Role at the hospital: Yachiru is considered a ward of the hospital due to her being left in the Emergency room when she was still a baby. Her parents are unknown even though attempts to contact them have been made.
Background (Relevant to Game): All Yachiru remembers of her life prior to coming to the Hospital is incredibly vague - there was a large man with black spiked hair and an eye-patch who saved her life and gave her a name, but his relation to her is unknown. She assumes that he is the one who brought her to the Hospital, but she has no way of knowing for certain.
What is currently considered fact regarding Yachiru is that she was discovered in the Emergency room on a particularly busy night around six years ago, a smiling and happy baby who was wide-eyed and alert. She showed signs of poor nutrition and was undersized for her estimated age, but she learned quickly even though she seemed to develop at a slower rate.
Numerous attempts have been made to have Yachiru adopted, but they have all failed. When pressed on the issue she speaks of a giant man with spiky black hair with bells on the tips and an eye-patch over one eye, who answers to the name of Kenchan. No such man has been found in the city which makes some feel he is simply the product of an over-active child's imagination. Still, any attempts to convince Yachiru that her 'Kenchan' isn't a real living, breathing savior have proven futile.
Until such a day as he comes for her, she is content to live her life in the hospital. She feels she has everything she needs here, including friends and family, and wants nothing more than to stay where she has already made a home for herself.
